CARVED AND STENCILED MAHOGANY CENTER TABLE WITH INSET MARBLE TOP

New York, c. 1825

The circular top with dark figured marble inset held by a wood frame, above a conforming apron with three large foliate gilt-stencils centering a lion’s mask, above a tapering cylindrical column on a stenciled tripartite base raised on carved animal-paw feet with foliate brackets on caster wheels.

Condition: Excellent: Some ware to the stencil decoration on the apron, and minor losses to carving on feet.
